Minecraft Pocket expected to return to Windows 10 Mobile
February 7, 2017
After the previous announcements that the current 0.16.2 version of Minecraft Pocket Edition available for Windows Phone 8 and Windows 10 Mobile was the last version, with no further updates, Windows Central has posted evidence from Reddit that the UWP Minecraft Pocket Edition on Windows 10 is adding Windows 10 Mobile support…sometime. This will still leave the Windows Phone 8 pocket edition isolated, but that is less of a surprise given the age of that OS and the continuing maturity of Windows 10 on Mobile. No details are available yet on a release date, as these are just change logs from beta testing, but it gives hope that Minecraft is indeed not being fully abandoned on the platform. Personally, I’m looking forward to this as I expect this would also mean finally getting Minecraft Realms support on mobile!
